Edison Chen Apologizes & Quits Showbiz

Friday, February 22, 2008 0
Finally,

Hong Kong singer and actor Edison Chen finally returned to Hong Kong secretly and faced the HK public for the first time by holding a press conference. Edison apologized in English to the women involved in the naughty photo sex scandal surrounding him, and to all of Hong Kong, where the public is outraged. Edison Chen said on Thursday he would step away from the Hong Kong entertainment industry to “heal himself”, in his first public appearance since the sex scandal broke.

So, what you all think?

Chap Goh Meh

Thursday, February 21, 2008 2

Hi all, i'm back.

Well, i guess most of you already knew what Chap Goh Meh is...which is basically the Chinese Valentine's Day....

I've also enclosed a more detailed info from Wikipedia...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Chap Goh Mei)

Chap Goh Meh or Tzap Goh Mei (; pinyin:shí wǔ wěi; lit. "fifteen night") represents the fifteenth and final day of the Lunar New Year period as celebrated by Chinese migrant communities. The term is from the Hokkien dialect and refers to the fifteenth day of the first month, which is the occasion of the first full moon of the New Year.

The occasion is marked by feasting and various festivities, including the consumption of tangyuan. In traditional Chinese culture, it is also celebrated as the Lantern Festival or the Shang Yuan Festival. In Southeast Asia, however, it coincides with the Chinese Valentine's Day.[1] It is also when young unmarried women gather to toss tangerines into the sea, in a hope that their future spouse will pick it up – a custom that originated in Penang, Malaysia. In the past, this was also the only day that unmarried ladies could be seen with their partners.

So, al you singles out there, grab a tangerine, write ur name, contact number and PRAY HARD someone pick up ur tangerine....LOL....

GOOD Luck!!!!!!

Movie Review : Kung Fu Dunk

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 1

So I went out yesterday to watch Kung Fu Dunk, a movie starting Jay Chou.

Chou plays an orphaned boy (Shi Kie) who grew up in a martial arts school, and as such is well versed in kung fu. One day he was displaying his exceptional shooting ability by throwing cans into a trash bin, and was picked by Wang Li (Zhang Zi Wei), a poor man who made his living in the streets to be a basketball player.

I read somewhere this movie was supposedly inspired by the best selling manga series Slam Dunk, written by Takehiko Inoue, but in no way does the film resemble the series. There were passing nods to Slam Dunk here and there, but mostly the film went its own way. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of references to its so-called source material.

To my understanding, this is supposed to be the theme movie for the 2008 China Olympics (correct me if I’m wrong). But as a movie, it totally don't have what it takes. Still lack alot of criterias.

The storyboard screwed up, sending the story into the realms of fantasy bordering on the lines of ridiculousness. Fight scenes without any point other than making Jay Chou look cool flood the opening of the movie.

Shi Kei, Ting Wei’s and Xiao Lan’s basketball skills are totally out of this world. Some scenes seemed forced, and didn’t pan out well. Many scenes are over dramatized, going really overboard. Halfway through the movie it gave up the ghost of a basketball story (not that it really had it much in the first place) and went straight into an all out slugfest between Shi Kei’s kungfu masters and the rival team. The ending…heck, everything about it was cheesy.

But entertainment wise, it’s pretty good. Looking past stuff like directing, execution, acting, story, and all other things, its good. It serves a purpose that every movie should perform, that is, to entertain the viewer.

On that aspect, it did an outstanding job. It had me laughing all the way. Seeing the characters pull off impossible dunks and shots and nifty ball-handling was fun. This is one movie where you won’t get bored, where you will feel reasonably happy parting with your money for.

3 Guys got caught by natives in a cannibal village. They are known for their boats that are made from human skin.

The first guy was asked," What do you want as your last wish?"
He said "Give me a boat!" After given a boat, the guy tried to escape by using his boat to travel across the river. It didn't worked, they caught him, eat him and then made a boat out of his skin.
The second guy asked for a weapon for the last wish. After given the weapon, he fought his way through the jungle. After he brought down 5 of the natives with him, he got caught. They eat him and made a boat out of his skin.

The third guy asked for a fork for his last wish. The tribesmen was confused by this wish...And then he started stabbing himself to death while screaming "Your new boat is leaking ... your new boat is leaking!"

They still killed him and then used his remains as paddles.

What's for dinner....

A man kills a 'deer' and takes it home to cook for dinner. Both he and his wife decide that they won't tell the kids what kind of meat it is, but will give them a clue and let them guess.

The kids were eager to know what the meat was on their plates, so begged their dad for the clue.

'Well' the father said, 'It's what mummy calls me sometimes.

''The little girl screams, 'Don't eat it.... it's a fuckin arsehole'
