As Ning and I were lining up to board our flight to Penang on Wednesday afternoon, I spotted a familiar face standing in front of us in the queue.

So I whispered to Ning.

Me: Look in front of us. It's Guan Eng.
Ning: Who?
Me: YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang.
Ning: No lah.
Me: Yes lah! I know how he looks lah. It's the CM lah.
Ning: Takkan CM jalan sorang sorang. If he's the CM, where's the bodyguards and the officers and the rombongan and kaum kerabat?
Me: Tak percaya? Watch and learn.
So I walked up to Yang Amat Berhormat, introduced myself and asked to take a picture. He smiled and obliged.
YAB CM: Hey, I know you! You're Ning Baizura!
Ning: YAB Lim, good afternoon.
YAB CM: Come, come, we take a picture. Vernon, here's my card. Email me the pictures OK.
Me: Definitely, sir.
Ambik kau. CM pun peminat katanya!

Ning and I really felt honoured. But we felt more surprised that the Chief Minister of a state was travelling all by himself like any normal rakyat jelata. But the biggest surprise in store for us was yet to come.

As usual, we sat in First Class. I expected the CM to be seated somewhere in front of us but then I realised he wasn't in First Class. Where did he disappear to???
I popped my head round the curtain that veils First Class and Economy Class and guess who I saw sitting in the front row seat of Economy quietly reading the newspapers?

YAB Mr. Lim, you have my deepest respect. You have made history by being the first Chief Minister in this country to sit in Economy Class whilst in office as Chief Minister. You really mean what you say when you talk about cost-cutting. Sir, you have shown me leadership by example.
Of course I asked permission to take his picture sitting in Economy and he laughed. And I said I'd blogged about it and he laughed some more, and gave permission. Ketua Menteri yang berjiwa rakyat.

At Gurney, we then left to Batu Feringghi.

One of my friend would like to fulfill his childhood dream, which is to FLY A KITE!!!!

Tamade!!!! So old also haven't fly a kite before. Nvm, since we are good pals, we will try our best to help him.

But too bad, the weather sucks and it rained non-stop. So, we tell him to Fly his own kite back at KL later on. LoL.

So, what can 4 dudes do in the rain?? No, there's nothing we could do but just stick our butts firmly in the car.

Drove out of Batu Feringghi and end up somewhere.....

I introduce you, the 3Bs - Beach Blanket Babylon.

Since we only go there for drinks, we were told to go upstairs.

We felt good. If we felt good, they will feel good too cos we are going to spend. Lol!

Got beds!!!! ahahah...no la, 4 dudes on a bed? plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So, we choose to be more normal,


We sat at the sofas....ngam ngam only for the 4 of us.

The atmosphere there is the best for relaxing (see how relax that idiot is) while having some....

and we ordered some snacks

Some wedges and popiahs..and err...white paper sticks tha you light some fire on it and get white smokes....Lol

Well, we like our wine chilled...so we waited a bit....

and served!!!!!! KANPAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oppss..wrong....Cheers!!!

Damn the Italian wine is goodness. I ain't a wine expert but it's nice. Drank and end up....

Stupido idioto really uselesso. (gota little bito of italiano slang?)
To freshen up a bit before we leave, ordered some mocktails... Cool Dawn, Pussy Foot, forgot 2 more other names.

Nice mixtures...paid up and left Babylon.

It's already 12 by then. Damn, we were wasted in there for almost 4 hours.

So, gone to gurney drive for some supper but it's all closing due to the rain...(fuckin rain) and met Amber Chia there. She was snapping pics with some of her fans. We didn't bother much cos we needed food. Not Amber Chia.

Then, cincai grab some food and go back KL....cos ade damn tired.....

Fun hor? let's do more 1 day trips!!!!!!!!!!!!

Penang Trip Part 2

So, after a not-so-satisfied breakfast at Bidor, we continue our journey to Penang.


Zoom-zoom...finally broke something...kekekeke...(kids, dont try this at home)


The very first eye-washing when we reached Penang Komtar. Dealt with some stuffs nearby Komtar and it's already 3pm. So, we head to


Gurney Plaza!!!!!!!!! Go Penang, must go Gurney Plaza. If not, like never been there....Lol.

It only took us 10 minutes to reach Gurney from Komtar with the help of GPS! Very very useful.

But to our surprise, Penang have


CHILIS!!!!!!! Yes...we coudln't believe our eyes. Since the time is around 3.30pm, we don't know where to eat, so this is where we landed.

We ordered the usual Bottomless fruit juices...

and started with the Bowl of Beef Queso...
Frankie had the Beef Bacon Burger - Well Done

Jesse had this Monetery Chicken Sandwich

Kian had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich

i have the Beef Bacon burger - medium well.
So, while having our lunch at Chilis,I'm also waiting for a few Shouters/bloggers from Penang to meet up.
There they are, Willazz, Cedric and Chee Hsien. It's nice of em to come around and meet up. However, it's a short meetup as everyone have their own plans that day, and Penang was raining non stop for the whole day.

Penang Trip Part 1

One fine weekend, 4 guys just woke up early in the morning and off they go head on the journey to Penang.


Was having a leisure cruise along the highway till suddenly felt hungry cos all of us haven't had breakfast yet. So, we turn off to Bidor!!!!


After the toll, turn right at the traffic light, straight ahead turn right at the traffic light again and then make a u-turn. Then, find a parking spot lor.


See, so many petais!!!!!! Sorry, off topic.

This is where we are getting out food.


It was around 10.30am.


and it's already so FREAKING HOT!!!!!


So, fast fast ordered drinks to cool down.....then apa lagi? order food lar!!!!



Wantan mee Kosong - cos really got nothing, not even a green vege.


With a bowl of shrimp wantans.

The wantan mee and the wantans costs RM5 (worth it ar)?


So, 4 guys wor...sure need some meat. We had this mixed stuffs.


It consists of Roasted Chicken, Roasted Duck, Siew Yuk and Char siew. Well, it's nothing to shout about. and it costs RM16. fuckin rip off!!!!

Anyway, nvm la. Cos it's supposed to be a relax trip thingy. So, once a while kena slaughter also no choice la. Tourist area ma.

I belif who have been to Bidor knows which Restaurant I'm talking about.

Sorry I forgot the restaurant name but it's famous for its Herb Duck Drumstick Wantan mee.
